Patients in the areas of Lehigh Acres, Punta Gorda, Cape Coral, and Fort Myers, FL who are interested in facial spider vein removal are welcome to learn about the advanced treatments available at Florida Skin Center, including the Candela V-beam.
How Does the Candela V-Beam Treat Spider Veins?
The Candela V-beam uses an intense, though gentle burst of specialized light that is used to destroy the blood vessels that make up spider veins, and it does not damage surrounding tissues. After this laser treatment, the tissue surrounding the area is intact. This laser can also be used to treat port wine stains and other vascular lesions.
Who is Not a Candidate for V-Beam Therapy?
Patients with darker ethnic skin are not advised to undergo treatment with the Candela V-beam. This is because the laser is less effective due to the increase of skin pigmentation. Some limitations also include the depth of penetration by the Candela V-beam device, as it can only target vessels that are approximately 1.5mm deep. Deeper vessels or blue vessels may not respond as well as red vessels that are closer to the surface of the skin.
How Many V-Beam Treatments Will I Need?
Three to five sessions are typically recommended for the treatment of spider veins on the face. Certain veins respond better than others or may require more treatments. This is discussed during the initial consultation appointment at Florida Skin Center.
What Should I Expect During the Candela V-Beam Treatment?
Avoid the sun four to six weeks before and after treatment with this laser. Most patients describe the laser treatment pulse as a rubber band snapping or stinging sensation. The skin may feel sensitive or warm after treatment, like a sunburn. You may also experience mild bruising on the areas treated by the laser for a week. To minimize downtime, ask us about our concealers.
