Skin warts

A wart is a common skin growth that appears as result of an infection by direct skin contact with the human papillomavirus (HPV). Warts occur most frequently among children and young adults, on sites of maceration or trauma. Although spontaneous remission may occur after months or years, recurrence is likely, and the potential of spreading of the infection to other sites or other individuals make most patients seek for treatment options.

At Florida Skin Center, we offer a variety of treatments for warts, including cryotherapy (freezing of the lesions with liquid nitrogen), medical treatment with creams or chemical compounds, laser therapy, and combinations of the above modalities.

If you or a family member have cutaneous or genital warts, please do not hesitate to contact our offices and our providers will be able to diagnose and treat this infection, and also provide education and guidance about prevention and avoidance of transmission of skin warts.
