Anais Aurora Badia Board-certified dermatologistDr. Badia completed dermatology training in Albany, New York in 2001. Shortly after, she founded Florida Skin Center as a full-service facility with state of the art treatments and amenities.
The National Osteopathic Pediatric Dermatology Certification Board relies on her professional input, as the doctor is a pediatrician as well as a dermatologist. This background makes her uniquely qualified to provide medical dermatology care for patients of all ages, at Florida Skin Center, including newborn babies. Under her direction, this is the only practice in the area to provide narrowband UVB phototherapy for treatment of eczema and psoriasis, as well as Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, and dermatopathology services. The practice is also equipped with a full laser suite, and offers aesthetic dermatology treatments.
While excellence in patient care is Dr. Badia’s passion, she is also active in the community. The local Hispanic Affairs Advisory Board has recognized her as Volunteer of the Year, and she received the Congressional Medal of Distinction, a national acknowledgement. Dr. Badia regularly lectures at pediatric postgraduate courses for Miami Children’s Hospital. The American Association on Anti-Aging Medicine values her services as a national speaker. She lectures on a variety of dermatology topics, at local and national levels, and her work has been published in leading pediatric and dermatology journals.

Chetan Vedvyas, M.D., F.A.A.D.Fellowship-Trained Mohs Surgeon
Florida Skin Center is proud to announce that nationally renowned Mohs surgeon Dr. Chetan Vedvyas will join us as our Director of Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology at our Punta Gorda office when it opens in April 2018.
Dr. Chetan Vedvyas is a fellowship-trained Mohs surgeon, a diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology, and a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, who will be joining Florida Skin Center at our upcoming Punta Gorda office location. He graduated summa cum laude from New York University with an honors degree in Psychology, and was elected a member of the Phi Beta Kappa Society, the National Honor Society in Psychology, and four other scholarship programs. While an undergraduate, he was a two-time awardee of competitive research scholarships for his work on infectious diseases at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Dr. Vedvyas proceeded to Harvard Medical School, earning his medical degree there while conducting research. While at Harvard, he received a PASTEUR clinical research fellowship for his original basic science research identifying a serum marker to be predictive of patient outcomes in critical illness. He then continued his medical training with a medical internship at the Harvard Cambridge Hospital. After his internship, Dr. Vedvyas completed his Dermatology residency at New York University Langone Medical Center, the nation's #1 ranked Dermatology residency program, according to U.S. News and World Report during his time there.
After his residency training in dermatology, Dr. Vedvyas completed the prestigious Mohs Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology Fellowship at Houston Methodist Hospital's world-renowned Mohs fellowship program, accredited by the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS).
Dr. Vedvyas is an active member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, and the American Academy of Dermatology. He has authored numerous research articles in peer-reviewed journals focused on Mohs surgery, dermatology, and basic science. Dr. Vedvyas has also presented his work at local and national professional conferences.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Vedvyas has a diverse array of interests. He holds two software copyrights, and enjoys traveling, jogging, cooking, and spending time with his wife and children.

Kimberly A. Werner, MD, FAAD General DermatologistKimberly A. Werner, MD, FAAD, is a Board-certified dermatologist and a U.S. citizen born abroad in Korea and raised in Indonesia by artist parents that instilled an eye for beauty and detail at an early age.
She earned her Bachelor of Science at William and Mary, with a major in neuroscience and a minor in biochemistry and military science, graduating summa cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa. Thereafter, Dr. Werner completed her medical degree at Eastern Virginia Medical School, where her superior performance academically secured her a coveted dermatology residency position. She completed her intern year at the world- renowned Walter Reed Military Medical Center, prior to seizing an opportunity to perform primary care attached to an infantry unit at the DMZ in South Korea, where her fluency in Korean allowed her to excel in her role amongst the Korean forces training alongside the U.S. troops. Upon her return to the U.S., Dr. Werner completed her dermatology residency at San Antonio Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium where she provided medical and surgical care to soldiers, retirees and their dependents at several U.S. Army bases nationwide.
She has been published many times in peer-reviewed medical journals and has extensive research experience in the fields of neuroscience, family medicine and cosmetic surgery, as well as dermatology. She has also presented at educational conferences, including the American Academy of Dermatology conference, before her revered peers.
Upon completing her military service in 2018, Dr. Werner became Florida Skin Center's third staff physician. She will be welcoming guests at the Cape Coral Office starting in May.
Andrea Basile, MD Board-Certified Plastic SurgeonWe are pleased to announce the addition of this world-renowned Plastic Surgeon to our medical team. He will begin performing certain plastic surgery procedures at our Ft. Myers office starting in March 2018 as part of his bi-weekly visits.
Dr. Basile is the founder and Medical Director of BASILE Plastic Surgery, a plastic surgery practice located in Naples, Florida which opened in 2002 dedicated to Aesthetic Medicine and Cosmetic Plastic Surgery, including surgical and non-invasive approaches to beauty enhancement.
Doctor Basile is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Before establishing his practice in Naples, Doctor Basile was an Assistant Professor of Plastic Surgery at Boston University School of Medicine and attending surgeon at the Boston Medical Center. Doctor Basile’s education took place in highly esteemed centers including Tufts University, Georgetown University School of Medicine, Harvard University’s New England Deaconess Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital. Doctor Basile then returned to Georgetown University for his residency training in Plastic Surgery., and then to Rio De Janeiro, as a visiting fellow in Aesthetic Surgery, with Dr. Ivo Pitanguy, an internationally acknowledged pioneer of modern plastic surgery techniques.
It is this kind of dedication to knowledge and training that has allowed Doctor Basile to develop technically advanced skills to empower his sense of artistry, giving him the ability to provide his patients with aesthetically accurate body improvements. Doctor Basile is the son of an Obstetrician and was born in New York, NY. He is delighted to be married to Ericka, a multi-talented small-business entrepreneur, and wonderful mother to their spirited children Julia and Nicolas. Outside his professional goals, Doctor Basile takes time to enjoy his family in the nurturing setting of our Florida sun!
Eduardo Weiss, MDIn 1982, Eduardo Weiss graduated third in a class of 117 from Universidad Central de Venezuela medical school. Following immigration to the United States, Dr. Weiss completed a residency program in dermatology from University of Miami at Jackson Memorial Hospital in 1999. There, he served as Chief Resident.
From 1999 through 2006, Dr. Weiss was a charge physician for Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center in the area of Mohs micrographic surgery and laser procedures. He also established a thriving practice in Hollywood, Florida during this time.
Currently performing more than 1,500 laser procedures and Mohs surgeries annually, he finds time to share knowledge. Dr. Weiss trains residents in the University of Miami and Nova South Eastern University program of dermatology and family medicine. Dr. Weiss has lectured throughout the United States and South America. His work has been published in numerous medical journals and health quarterlies.

Robb E. Wilentz, MD Laboratory ProviderDr. Wilentz is Board-certified in anatomic pathology and dermatopathology. He graduated from Harvard University in 1992 with a BA in biochemical sciences, and earned a medical degree from The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in 1996. Dr. Wilentz completed internship and residency in anatomic pathology at The Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. During residency, Dr. Wilentz completed fellowships in surgical and gastrointestinal/pancreatic pathology, was Chief Resident, and served as Assistant Professor of Pathology.
In 2002, Dr. Wilentz left Baltimore to pursue a fellowship in dermatopathology at University of Miami, Miller School of Medicine’s Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery. He continues to hold a post as Voluntary Assistant Professor at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, and at Florida Atlantic University.
His academic career in dermatopathology and gastrointestinal pathology has been prolific. Dr. Wilentz has published more than 60 peer-reviewed book chapters and manuscripts. These missives appeared in preeminent textbooks and journals including Cancer, the American Journal of Pathology, and Robbins’ Pathologic Basis of Disease.
Dr. Wilentz served on the United States and Canadian Academy of Pathology scientific abstract review board. He won many research awards and lectured at multiple universities. He has served as a member and moderator on many medical and university committees and panels.

George A. Gulisano, C.P.A. Chief Executive OfficerGeorge A. Gulisano serves as FSC’s Chief Executive Officer. His duties include physician recruitment and contracting and overseeing all of the administrative functions of our award-winning locations in Ft, Myers, Cape Coral, Lehigh Acres and Punta Gorda ( opening in April 2018). His focus is providing the medical and support teams with all the tools needed to create the ultimate patient experience. His leadership, and over 30 years of experience as a C Level executive in the healthcare industry, and as a CPA and partner in public accounting firms will only serve to strengthen the finest group of medical providers and support teams at any Dermatology practice in Florida.
Mr. Gulisano is a graduate of the University of Miami and a licensed CPA in the State of Florida since 1985.
Mr. Gulisano serves as a Trustee, and Past President of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountant’s Educational Foundation. In 2013, he became one of only nineteen CPA’s statewide who received a named endowment to provide yearly scholarships to Florida accounting students in perpetuity. His passion is to give back in every way possible to his profession and the community, and to work on programs for challenged youth and minority students.
Shirisha Vallarapu Physician AssistantShirisha Vallarapu is a Board-certified physician assistant, and was awarded Diplomate status from the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. Shirisha graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a bachelor’s degree in microbiology. She then attended Nova Southeastern University, earning a Master’s in medical science and a BS in physician assistant studies.
This dedicated PA brings more than 12 years of health care experience to Florida Skin Center. She sees patients for routine skin checks and medical issues. Shirisha also performs the majority of routine biopsies and excisions at the office. She applies extensive training in laser procedures such as hair removal and vascular treatments. She is also experienced and talented in dermal filler and Botox Cosmetic injections.
Shirisha frequently lectures to local colleagues, and throughout the community, on the importance of skin health. She enjoys spending time getting to know patients, and continually furthers her knowledge of dermatology through attendance at conferences and workshops.
Brooke Drew Physician AssistantBrooke is a Board-certified physician assistant, as well as a member of the Florida Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. The Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants has awarded her DSDPA – Diplomate – status.
She is a graduate of University of South Florida, with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical science. Brooke completed physician assistant training at Nova Southeastern University, graduating with high honors and a Master in medical science.
Brooke has background in dermatology research, and in bringing new generic medications to market. She performs routine skin checks at Florida Skin Center, and takes patients for problem visits. Brooke is experienced in biopsies, excisions, and cryotherapy, and in performing precise laser procedures. She is also experienced and talented in dermal filler and Botox Cosmetic injections.
Cindy Huang Physician AssistantBoard-certified physician assistant, Cindy Huang, is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants. She graduated Cum Laude, with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from State University of New York at Binghamton. After several years in behavioral cardiovascular research, Cindy pursued a desire to become more directly involved in patient care. At Arcadia University, she earned a Master of Medical Science degree in physician assistant studies. She has more than six years of experience in healthcare, with specialization in dermatology since 2012.
Cindy sees Florida Skin Center patients for routine screenings as well as medical problems. She performs intralesional injections, laser procedures, excisions, cryotherapy, and biopsies. She is also experienced and talented in dermal filler and Botox Cosmetic injections.
Maria G. Cardena Aesthetician, Exilis Provider"Gaby," as she is affectionately known by clients and staff, has been with Florida Skin Center since 2011. She serves the practice in several roles, ensuring that patients get the absolute best care. She is an aesthetician and makeup artist, passionate about helping clients choose the best skin care regimens and cosmetics to improve skin health and appearance. She specializes in patient education and application of the Colorescience makeup line, as well as Exilis treatment for skin tightening and body contouring.
Gabby is enthusiastic about holding these important positions in the practice. Small wonder patients adore her – she genuinely enjoys helping in all aspects of their relationships with Florida Skin Center.
Born and raised in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico, Gabby moved to the States when she was 14 years old. When she is not at the office, she spends time with family, and stays fit working out.
