Caught Early and Treated Properly, Skin Cancer is Highly Curable

What is Skin Cancer?

Skin cancer is the most commonly occurring form of cancer. It is most frequently caused by excessive sun exposure which damages the skin cells and causes mutations. Then, small patches of discoloration will develop on the skin that can appear red and scaly. The two most common types of skin cancer are basal cell carcinoma and squamous cell carcinoma. The third most common type is known as melanoma, which is linked to moles that have new or unusual growth. Skin cancer is fairly easy to spot and can be easily cured when detected early, which is why we encourage all guests to stay active in examining moles and sun damage.

How is Skin Cancer Treated?

Depending on the type of skin cancer that a guest has, we have a number of options to provide effective treatment including advanced Mohs Surgery, for many skin cancers which appear in sensitive or visible areas.
