Resolve To Take Care of Your Skin In 2012
As we ring in the New Year, we make resolutions. Resolutions to get in shape, to spend more time with family and to excel at work. Why not a resolution to take care of your skin?
A great way to get your healthy youthful skin back is with our Fraxel 3 part system. This system is a revolutionary way to reverse the signs of aging. The Fraxel 3 part system helps with fine lines, skin texture and pore size, acne scaring, age spots and skin discoloration.
The first step of this system is a chemical peel. A chemical peel helps to prep and exfoliate to remove dead skin. This process allows the laser treatment to penetrate deeper into the skin.
The next step is a Fraxel laser treatment. The Fraxel laser produces thousands of tiny deep columns of treatment into your skin, known as micro thermal treatment zones. The Fraxel laser is unlike any other lasers on the market, because it leaves the surrounding healthy tissue intact, which reduces healing time and promotes the skins natural process for creating new tissue to replace the damaged cells.
The last step of this process is a maintenance treatment that you can do in the comfort of your own home. Each patient gets sent home with a product called TNS Recovery Complex. This unparalleled treatment gel contains growth factors clinically proven to enhance skin tone and texture, improve wrinkles and elasticity. This product strengthens the skin's natural ability to regenerate itself and improves skin firmness as well as maintains the effects of each laser treatment.
Why not start 2012 right by doing something for you? If you have specific questions or would like a consultation for this treatment please call or ask any of our providers.

What Is a Chemical Peel?
Who Should Have Them Done?
When most of us think chemical peel we envision red, blistered skin, like something out of a scary movie. While some peels can create this look, not all of them do.
At Florida Skin Center we offer 5 different peels. The difference in the peels is the depth that it penetrates the epidermis; this is dependant on the strength or percentage of the acids. Chemical peeling is an accelerated form of exfoliation created by acids that produces a controlled injury to the skin.
Collagen remodeling is the primary reason chemical peels improve sun-damage and reduce wrinkles. The epidermis heals in a few days resulting in an improved appearance of the skin, smoother texture and decreased pigmentary irregularities.
To achieve the desired results from chemical peels (no matter the condition we are working on improving: acne, wrinkles, or pigmentation problems) it is highly recommended that patients do a series of 3-4 peels, each about a month apart.
Some peels will result in mild sloughing of the skin, others will flake for about 3-4 days. This again is dependant on the peel strength and, of course, each patient is different. The strength is decided between you and your aesthetician prior to having your peel done.
Chemical Peels
ILLUMINIZE Peel is an easy, superficial peel. This is a great choice for the person that is looking for a gentle and superficial peel. Or if you want to look refreshed for a same day important date or function. It produces little or no visible peeling. It's quick and recommended for all skin types.
MICROPEEL Plus 30 procedure is a unique one-step treatment of chemical exfoliation designed to reduce acne, keep problematic skin clear of breakouts, and help correct environmental skin damage. It refines pores and helps reduce the appearance of acne and improves rough texture, blotchiness, and uneven skin tone. The skin will undergo its renewal process and light to moderate peeling may occur.
VITALIZE PEEL is also superficial but restorative in nature. This peel actually rehabilitates the dermal layers by generating the body's own production of collagen and elastin that naturally slows in production after the age of twenty. This self neutralizing, powerful yet non-damaging peel can take years off aging skin. In our own personal experiences, we found that superficial peeling occurred for a period of four to five days, starting on day two or three.
JESSNER'S PEEL induces exfoliation of the outer layers of skin helping to reduce wrinkling and even out the complexion. Works well on acne-prone or oily skin with very little down time.
REJUVENIZE PEEL is the deepest peel we offer but still considered superficial. Like the Vitalize Peel, this peel is rehabilitative in nature. The Rejuvenize Peel penetrates into the deeper layers of the epidermis and produces the most exfoliation and produces a moderate amount of peeling lasting for 2-5 days; but still gentle enough to repeat every 3-4 weeks.
